When you are playing this variant, you will discover that the deck will have 108 cards, and 4 jokers will be added to that. Despite having access to such a deck with a considerable number of cards, only 5 cards get dealt to each of the players, and 4 more are dealt face-up on the table. These cards can be used for melds, but that is not mandatory. Till they are not being used, these cards are considered separate single cards. Jokers can be used as the substitute for any card you require for the meld, but a meld can have only one joker. Once the meld happens with a joker, it cannot be rearranged. A joker won't be replaced by a card that is there on the table already. That card must come from the player's hand. Every time a player goes out from the game, the other players will receive penalty points based on their cards.

Guadalupe

This variant of the game is played without the jokers, though the players are still dealt 5 cards in the beginning. You can draw 2 cards from the deck in your turn, especially if you haven't put down any cards. If you have put down cards and haven't gone out, you will be allowed to draw one card from the deck when your turn ends. In this variant, when one player goes out, the remaining players will get 1 penalty point for each of the cards remaining in their hands.
